One of the main problems facing new Moms who welcome their babies via C-Section is the pain and discomfort in the early weeks. This can go on to affect breast-feeding and bonding. By reducing pain through gentle incision support, Belly Wrap helps new moms to be more mobile and more comfortable while adjusting to life with a newborn.

Why We Pick it:

It is the only soft abdominal binder available in the Southern African market that has been designed to accommodate moms who deliver via C-Section as well as natural birth. By reducing pain through gentle incision support, Belly Wrap helps moms to be more mobile and more comfortable while adjusting to life with a baby.

Diastasis Recti (separation of the “6-pack” muscle) happens in 2/3 of pregnancies to varying degrees. If left unsupported post-delivery, this can have consequences for poor abdominal muscle recovery. This condition requires support of the abdominals, to prevent herniation of organs through the gap in the muscles. Unfortunately tolerance with the firmer binders on the market is very low (due to discomfort and breathing restriction), and to obtain good success with a binder, it needs to be worn consistently. The Belly Wrap is designed with this in mind and provides support in a comfortable and discreet manner.

Size Pre—Pregnancy Pants Size Belly Measurement
Petite 28-30 65-81cm
Small 32-34 82-99cm
Medium 36-38 100-119cm
Large 40-42 120-140cm

Choose the Correct Size:

  1. Measure around your belly 4-5cm below your belly button at 33-35 weeks of pregnancy.
  2. Take your measurement around the buttocks area, not up at the waist.
  3. Subtract 8 – 12cm (10 – 20cm for twins) for post birth size estimate. Reduce weight by 5 – 7kgs for post birth weight (9kg for twins).
  4. If you are not pregnant but need the support post-abdominal surgery, use the actual measurement with no adjustment.

Note: The chart is based on an average height of 1.65m.
